    The Region in Perspective

The five-county "South Central Region" represents a land mass comprised of nearly 2,750 square miles and includes some 44 incorporated municipalities scattered throughout the five member counties. In general, the region or district, would be characterized as rural but urbanizing in nature. The region's centralized location within the Midwestern US affords access to a 532-county market area with 45 million residents which can be accessed via a one-day truck drive.

The region's incorporated municipalities are, for the most part, spaced some 7 to 10 miles apart and situated within reasonable proximity to either Interstates 57 and 70 or one of several important state or federal routes which intersect the five-county area.
